The story behind Coffee with Clearbrook
In the early years of Clearbrook Grain & Milling, what was then known as the “general” store became a gathering place for customers. Every Saturday morning, farmers would come in for coffee, a selection of Funk’s store bought cookies and an informal chat with other farmers.
What started out as casual get-togethers eventually transformed into a very significant and meaningful part of our history as “Coffee Time at Clearbrook” grew in importance. It evolved from being an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals into a time of sharing and gaining industry knowledge. And when the homemade cookies started arriving from Erna Friesen’s kitchen, it quickly became coffee and cookie time! Those weekly gatherings at Clearbrook Grain & Milling endured for the better part of four decades.
The opportunity for sharing knowledge hasn’t gone away and, even in today’s digital world, the chance to connect in person is still as important to us as ever. That’s why we’ve re-introduced coffee time!
It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy great coffee, participate in conversation and be part of the agriculture community. We’ll even give you a mug with your name on it. We couldn’t think of a better way to be part of our future and share in our history.
